Greyton Transition Town (GTT) is part of the worldwide movement of Transition Towns which bring the community together to find local solutions to the global challenges of peak oil and climate change. Key to our work is our after school eco-ranger programme which is attended by over 150 local children who learn about environmentally sustainable practices and implement them in the community.
GTT is committed to fostering and inspiring environmental awareness amongst the residents of Greyton and surrounding villages so that our environment can be preserved for future generations. We work towards zero waste, renewable energy roll out, integrated sustainable housing, environmental education, short supply chains and ethical farming practices.
