The Crags Eco-Preschool

The Crags Eco-Preschool incorporates the fundamental principles of the early years learning framework while maintaining a determined focus on integration of environmental education and the natural world. Early childhood education plays a vital role in developing a child’s identity in a manner that enables them to connect with and contribute to their environment. An in/outdoor environment has the added advantage of bringing hands on environmental education into the preschool experience.

At The Crags Eco-Preschool, the learning program keeps children in touch with nature through active ecological education within the surrounding natural environment. Plettenberg Bay, with 7 unique eco-systems, the Robberg and Keurbooms Nature Reserves right on the doorstep, provides the ideal outside environment to facilitate educational excursions to promote the importance of nature conservation. It has a rain water tank, a productive vegetable and herb garden, a recycling system whereby waste is recycled for use in art projects.
