Responsive CMS based website rebuild 2014

Chris Parker from ESP Online pocket-dialed me while we were both in the middle of feeding dinner to our kids. ESP are the leading Spa and Salon Management Software Solution based in Cape Town, South Africa with clients across the world. It was great to catch up, but it was also good timing (except for being in the middle of being attacked with wet spaghetti by a 2-year old) because they wanted to switch their site over to something they could edit themselves and which was responsive on mobile devices.

Their existing site was custom-built in HTML5. I reproduced this on the WordPress platform so it could be edited in-house, and with a fluid layout so it could be navigated on a phone. Of course I went too far, and the first draft I sent them was a complete rethink of the site. Chris was polite about this and told me that they need to take that sort of move in stages and get approvals. So I reproduced their existing site exactly, except CMS-enabled and responsive, and then we started talking further about how to improve the user experience and presentation. Phase 2 coming soon hopefully.

Redesign 2015

After building Chris’s initial WordPress site in 2014 (see that below) he came back the following year to implement some changes and upgrades.
